Arts funding managed by artsACT is one of the main ways the ACT Government provides direct support to the arts.
Funding supports individual artists, arts organisations and community groups. It is delivered through a number of categories, and supports high quality work across a broad range of artforms and practices.
Categories are:
- ACT Arts Organisation Investment funding supports arts organisations that engage with the local community to provide arts programs, services, expertise and infrastructure to support and develop the arts in the ACT.
- Arts Activities funding supports ACT-based artists at all stages of their careers and organisations providing the Canberra community with opportunities to engage in the arts.
- Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Cultural Arts Program supports costs associated with the development and delivery of activities that share and build cultural arts practices led by and for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people from the ACT.
- ACT Book of the Year Award is an annual award for excellence in literature, valued at $10,000.
